Oil or No Oil, That is the Question...

The biggest misconception about essential oils is that they are only used to smell good. Now there are some that smell better than others. I admit that when I received the biblically based oils to smell like Jesus, I was stunned at how atrocious some of the odors could be. Of course, not showering daily would probably put a different spin on how I feel about them.

What else can you use them for? I personally use them from the time I wake to the time I go to sleep. Getting ready for a morning workout before the sunrise can be brutal. Diffusing En-R-Gee, Awaken, Motivation, and Fitness oils can give anyone a jump-start to their routine. My shower consists of homemade body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, as well as an oil blend used for shaving. Body lotion, facial moisturizer, deodorant, and perfume are all oil based. Tea Tree is the best for killing those unwanted colonies attempting to plant a flag in your armpits daily.

I start my day with black tea, a touch of homemade vanilla, coconut milk, and specially blended chai of six various oils that make it super tasty: Cardamom, Cinnamon Bark, Ginger, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, and Clove. Starbucks officially has competition. My water has a drop of citrus to spruce it up whether it is Lemon, Grapefruit, Lime, or Stress Away. They are great for antioxidants, and the best thing is that while the actual citrus food would expire, you can keep using these oils over and over. One drop goes a long way.

I also carry around Peppermint or Thieves to take the place of gum. Why chew on something all day and create stomach acid meant for food when you can get the fresh breath needed in a single drop? I always carry my brain power oil blend to keep me focused on tasks at hand.

When cooking dinner, I find that I can purchase a bunch of rosemary, basil, etc. and only use sparse amounts. However, with the oils, I can use the one drop necessary to make any decadent dish more delicious and no longer worry about herbs going bad in the fridge.
